Nepal Airlines Corporation has removed its network map of destinations that it had made public on social media a few days ago after it was caught in a controversy.
The map had drawn criticism after it was found to contain a serious mapping error related to international borders.
As the controversy intensified, the corporation removed the content from social media. Also, on Thursday, the corporation issued a formal notice and apologized for the error.
In a statement issued by the corporation, it clarified that the map does not reflect the official views of Nepal or Nepal Airlines. “We apologize for the error in the network map that we recently shared on social media,” the statement said.
According to the corporation, the post has been removed immediately and an internal review process has been initiated to ensure that such errors do not occur in the future. It also expressed respect for the relations with neighboring and regional friendly countries and regretted any inconvenience caused by this incident.
