Nepal Oil Corporation has urged people to purchase and use only the necessary quantity of petroleum products and gas. The corporation issued a press release on Wednesday, urging people not to buy more cylinders if they consume one cylinder per month, not to store it unnecessarily, and to increase electricity consumption instead of gas.

As Nepal is completely dependent on imports for petroleum products, the corporation has clarified that it is necessary to make some protective arrangements for its consumption. The corporation has stated that action will be taken if gas cylinders are held unnecessarily, gas and petroleum products are sold at higher prices, or new cylinders are marketed.

The press release issued by the corporation said, 'Although the situation of reducing the consumption of petroleum products and gas in industrial use, the import and sale and distribution of fuel and LP gas is being regularized and will continue in the coming days, Nepal is requested to purchase fuel and gas only when necessary and not to store it unnecessarily, considering the possibility that Nepal will not be immune to the impact on the world due to the problems seen in the Middle East.'
