Targeting the elections, the Nepal Tourism Board has operated a free shuttle bus service for the smooth movement of domestic and international air passengers.
According to the Nepal Tourism Board, a shuttle bus service has been provided from the airport to various tourist hotels and main places in the Kathmandu Valley targeting passengers traveling to and from Tribhuvan International Airport. The service has been started from 5 am and will be operated till 7 pm on Thursday.
The board has stated that the service has been operated to facilitate the movement of tourists and air passengers, keeping in mind the possible inconvenience in vehicle operation on election days. The shuttle bus service will operate regularly through the designated routes.
Under the first route, the service will be operated through Nepal Airlines Corporation, New Road, Kantipath, Thamel, Lainchaur, Malla Hotel, Nayabazar, Shankar Hotel, Radisson, Durbarmarg, Yak & Yeti, Nagpokhari, Gaushala and Dwarika Hotel to the airport. This route will be coordinated by Ram Bahadur Nagarkoti, and the service is available through Ba 1 Pa 1378.
The second route will be operated via Maharajgunj Chowk, Narayanthan, Ramada Hotel in Dhumbarahi, Chabahil, Hyatt Regency in Bouddha, Jorpati and Gaushala to the airport. The contact person for this route is Pawan Giri and bus number Ba 1 Pa 1320 is being operated.
The third route will be operated via Kupandol, Himalayan Hotel, Tripureshwor, Kalanki, Soalti, Ekantakuna, Satdobato, Royal Tulip in Gwarko, Tinkune, New Baneshwor and Everest Hotel to the airport. This route will be coordinated by Suraj Khadgu and bus number Ba 1 Pa 1081 is being operated, the board has stated.
Acting Director of the board Sunil Sharma has urged passengers to use this service on election day to reach the airport on time and travel safely to their destinations.
