The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal has stated that all types of domestic flights across the country will be operated as required on Thursday, Falgun 21, the day of the House of Representatives elections.
In a notice issued by the authority on Tuesday, it is said that domestic flights will be operated as required. International flights will also remain normal. On a normal day, 125 to 147 one-way domestic flights are operated at Kathmandu Airport. There are data that about 300 domestic flights are operated two-way. There are about 50 one-way flights and about 100 two-way flights daily for international flights.
Since Israel and the United States attacked Iran on Saturday morning, the number of international flights has decreased to around 74 to 78. The authority has stated that the flight schedule will be revised according to the situation.
It is stated that flights to destinations in the Gulf countries will be operated based on the decision of the concerned country and the conditions of the airport where the flight will be operated. The authority has clarified that the airlines will operate flights to those destinations according to the revised flight schedule.
Clarifying the confusion that arose after the earlier announcement that there would be no flights to Gulf countries, the Authority has requested all stakeholders to contact the relevant airline companies for updated information.
