The Supreme Court has issued an interim order to stop the selection process for the General Manager of Nepal Airlines Corporation.

Chiranjeevi Upadhyay had filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court claiming that the selection of the General Manager cannot be done when the election code of conduct is already in force. The General Manager Selection Committee, formed under the coordination of the Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, had 'shortlisted' the names of 10 people on 4 Magh for appointment through open competition.

The 10 people on the shortlist are the Corporation's Senior Captain Dipu Jwarchan, Customer Service Department Chief Tankanidhi Dahal, Upendra Bahadur Karki, Dr. Deepak Prasad Bastola, Dr. Bhim Bahadur Chand, Yograj Kandel, Bishnu Babu Mishra, Ved Prasad Upreti, Sanjay Kumar Singh and Satya Kumar Basnet.
