The Nepalese Association of Southeast America (NASIA), a social organization of Nepalis living in the United States, has donated approximately nine hundred thousand rupees to the Nepal Reconstruction Fund.
NASIA Treasurer Puranraj Khatiwada handed over a check of the amount to Prime Minister Sushila Karki in Baluwatar on Thursday, informed the Prime Minister's Press Advisor Ram Bahadur Rawal. He informed that the amount was collected and handed over to the government for the relief and rehabilitation of the families of the youth martyred in the Gen-G movement.
On the occasion, Prime Minister Karki thanked him for providing the amount he had saved while living abroad for the reconstruction fund. She also appreciated the support provided by Nepalis living abroad when Nepal is in trouble.
Prime Minister Karki said, 'When we are in trouble here, there is a disaster or epidemic, you worry about us while living abroad. You help by raising money despite your own means. This is what Nepalihood is all about. After all, your country is your own.'
