Petroleum products worth Rs 90.6 billion have been imported through Birgunj in the first six months of the current fiscal year.
Petroleum products worth Rs 2.75 billion more were imported through the Birgunj border in the current fiscal year compared to the same period of the previous fiscal year. In the same period of the current fiscal year, Rs 37.85 billion in revenue was collected from the import of petroleum products.
According to Uday Singh Bista, Information Officer of the Birgunj Customs Office, there has been a significant increase in the import of petroleum products and the revenue received from them in the same period of the current fiscal year compared to the same period of the previous fiscal year. While in the same period of the previous fiscal year, petroleum products worth Rs 87.31 billion were imported, and revenue of Rs 36.14 billion was collected.
According to the Customs Office, in the same period of the current fiscal year, diesel worth Rs 45.38 billion was imported, and revenue of Rs 19.85 billion was collected. Similarly, in the same period, petrol worth Rs 20.98 billion was imported, and revenue of Rs 13.82 billion was collected. Similarly, LPG gas worth Rs 14.79 billion was imported, and revenue of Rs 2.77 billion was collected.
