As the House of Representatives elections approach, the demand for eggs has increased. As demand increases, the price of eggs is also gradually increasing.

The Nepal Layers Poultry Breeders Association has increased the price of eggs with effect from today. Accordingly, the farm price of a large egg per crate (30 pieces) has reached Rs 495. Earlier, the price of a large egg, which was sold at Rs 465 per crate, has increased by Rs 30. Similarly, the farm price of medium eggs has been fixed at Rs 475. Earlier, these eggs were sold at Rs 445.

The price of eggs was the highest ever in last Mangsir. At that time, a large egg was sold at Rs 565 per crate on the farm. The rate of medium eggs was Rs 550. According to the association's president, Binod Pokharel, the price of eggs has increased due to the election atmosphere in Nepal and the strictness in the border areas along with the election.

Due to the decrease in egg-producing chickens, egg production has decreased, and schools that were closed have reopened, the price of eggs is gradually improving. The cost of production of eggs is Rs 19.12 per crate. When calculated, the cost of farmers is Rs 574.6 per crate. Farmers were disappointed when the price of eggs fell again when it was close to the cost price. Now farmers are hoping for a price increase. The association has been fixing the support price of eggs according to the market situation.
