The organizers have stated that preparations for the second 'Home Construction Fest' to be held at Bhrikuti Mandap in Kathmandu have reached the final stage. The fest is being organized by the Home Construction Foundation from December 1 to 3 with the aim of taking Nepal's construction sector to new heights through the use of modern technology.
The fest will have more than 150 stalls and a turnover of about Rs 200 crore is expected. According to the foundation's director Satakshi Mishra, the fest is expected to attract more than 40,000 visitors.
Mishra said that the fest, which will be organized with the slogan 'Whatever we do, we do in Nepal', has been expanded as a common platform for innovation, quality construction, branding and business growth.
To make the fest attractive, the world's largest brick, upside-down house and dome house will be exhibited this year. According to Mishra, preparations are underway to register the giant brick built by the foundation in the 'Guinness Book of World Records'.
'Until now, the world's largest brick was built in Texas, USA in 2007, measuring 2.94 meters in length and 0.99 meters in width and height,' she said. 'As another major attraction of the fest, the entire structure and design of the house will be presented in an upside-down form.
Similarly, there will be a live demonstration of the technology that can build a house, hotel or resort in a day under the 'Dom House' concept. It is believed that this will give a new experience to the visitors.
This festival, considered the largest in Nepal in terms of construction, will showcase all the stages of house construction from preparation to completion. The organizers are confident that the construction-related stalls will make it more attractive. This year, an exhibition of 3D models prepared by 40 different engineering colleges will also be held at the festival.
Arrangements have been made for those who come to observe the festival to get direct and free consultations with engineers, architects, construction material experts and experienced people in the industry. Visitors will be able to get information about house construction-related queries, material selection, design, cost, quality and modern technology.
Various brands participating in the exhibition are also preparing to make public special offers targeted at customers. Earlier, the foundation had organized the first construction festival in Budhanagar on 15, 16 and 17 Falgun.
