Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Kulman Ghising has said that the use of local products should be promoted across the country. Speaking at the launch of the ‘Bamboo Structure Design Guidelines 2082’ organized by ‘Habitat for Humanity’ Nepal in Lalitpur with the slogan ‘Bamboo Housing for the Future’, he said that he is planning to encourage the use of local products.

'We have been spending a lot of money on wood imports, let's create an environment for using bamboo structures, it will bring a big change in the economy,' he said.
Secretary of the Ministry of Urban Development, Gopal Prasad Sigdel, said that the ministry is ready to emphasize the use of local products. Director General of the Department of Urban Development and Building Construction, Rabindra Bohara, said that the department is committed to preparing and implementing the necessary policy arrangements, standards, guidelines and procedures for the construction of earthquake-resistant structures that are suitable for local contexts, climate-friendly technology, and earthquake-resistant structures.
