The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index, which measures share trading, fell by double digits on Thursday, the last day of weekly trading.
The NEPSE, which had been growing continuously for the previous three trading days, fell by 10.66 points on Thursday. After falling by 0.40 percent compared to Wednesday, the overall NEPSE has fallen to 2,615.03 points.
Out of the 13 sub-groups traded on that day, the share prices of 63 companies increased, 194 companies decreased, and 2 companies remained unchanged. As the number of companies that decreased their share prices on that day was more than the number that increased, the overall NEPSE fell by double digits.
A total of 12.91 million 401 shares were bought and sold on Thursday in 64,299 share transactions. A transaction value of Rs 4.57 billion 7.8 million was made in those transactions. The transaction value increased compared to the previous day. Shares worth Rs 4.57 billion 3.7 million were traded on the stock market on Wednesday.
Out of the 13 sub-groups traded on that day, the index of the trade and non-life insurance sub-group increased moderately. The index of the hotel and tourism sub-group remained stable. Nepse reported that the indices of all remaining subgroups decreased.
