Outgoing Chamber of Commerce President Malla urges Chinese investors to invest in Nepal

Rajendra Malla, the outgoing president of the Nepal Chamber of Commerce, has urged Chinese entrepreneurs to invest in Nepal.

At a program organized by the Chinese General Association of Industry and Commerce in Nepal, Chairman Malla said that Nepal is a very attractive destination from the perspective of technology, innovation and investment, and that there is a policy arrangement that ensures returns.

Outgoing Chairman Malla said that Nepal is suitable for investment due to its natural resources, strategic and geographical location, and energetic young manpower.  ‘Products made in Nepal through Chinese investment can expand easy access to the Indian and Chinese markets,’ he said. ‘The investment environment is also improving due to the current government’s clear commitment to the security of foreign investment in Nepal.’

Malla said that there is immense potential in sectors such as hydropower, tourism, agriculture, information technology, infrastructure and real estate. He said that if Chinese investment enters these sectors, employment creation, industrial construction and national transformation can be accelerated through modern technology, large capital and development experience.

Saying that he is ready to cooperate with Chinese entrepreneurs, Malla said that stable, friendly and return-oriented investment will be ensured.

Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Chen Zhong said that Chinese investment is expanding in Nepal's tourism, agriculture and other sectors.
