Insurance payments of Rs 18.795 crore have been made so far for physical and other damages caused by incessant rains and floods and landslides since October 18. The Insurance Authority has stated that companies have paid insurance equivalent to the amount mentioned in 67 claims as of November 17.

The Insurance Authority has stated that 781 claims worth 4.398 billion rupees have been filed for the damage caused by rain and floods. Of these, only 20.25 billion rupees have been paid for 67 claims.

Of the claims filed, 410 property insurance claims have been paid for 20 out of 3.453 billion rupees, 20 out of 506 engineering and contract risk insurance claims have been paid for 6 out of 506 engineering and contract risk insurance claims have been paid for 200,000, 210 out of 414 agricultural and crop insurance claims have been paid for 13 out of 414 and 40 out of 30 million motor insurance claims have been paid for 9 out of 87 million.

According to the Authority's data, 3 marine insurance claims have been paid for 985,000. Of which, one claim has been paid for about 3 lakh rupees so far.

There have been 10 claims for motor insurance (public) for about 10.8 crore rupees and 2 claims for small insurance for about 1.2 lakh rupees. None of these claims have been paid for so far.
