Insurance payout of 4.5 billion rupees for damage caused during the Bhadhai 24 demonstration

Nearly 4.5 billion rupees worth of compensation has been paid for damage to physical infrastructure caused during the protests on 23 Bhadra and 24 Bhadra.

Out of the insurance claims worth 23.5 billion rupees, 4.5 billion rupees have been paid till last week.

According to the data till 17 Mangsir, insurance companies have received claims worth 23.44 billion rupees. Of that, only 4.38 billion rupees have been paid till last week.

The authority has clarified that this amount also includes advance payments. The payment amount is only about 18.70 percent of the total claims. Till last week, 3,300 claims have been received by insurance companies.

The highest amount of 3.21 billion rupees 8.9 billion rupees of claims paid till last week is under property insurance (household property). Out of 710 claims, 19.88 billion rupees have been claimed under this insurance. After property insurance, motor insurance has received the most payments. Of which, 1.86 billion rupees have been paid.

68.1 million rupees have been paid in contractor and engineering insurance, 66 million in transit insurance, and 49 million in other insurance. Insurance companies have stated that only a small number of claims have been insured, especially due to the lack of assessment and procedural work in large losses.
