Banks and financial institutions wishing to place funds in the deposit collection can bid online until 2 pm today, according to a notice issued by the Nepal Rastra Bank.
Today, the National Bank is going to withdraw 40 billion rupees from the market. As the amount (liquidity) that can be lent to banks and financial institutions is high, the National Bank is going to withdraw money from the market today as well, like every Wednesday.
In the same vein, today, the Rastra Bank is going to withdraw the amount for 18 days through the deposit collection device.
For the last three years, the Rastra Bank has been withdrawing money from the market regularly twice a week on Sundays and Wednesdays. In the early days, the Rastra Bank, which was withdrawing money for a short period, has now started withdrawing money for a long period.
The Rastra Bank's notice states that bidding can be done in deposit collection in a manner that the remainder is divided by a minimum of 100 million rupees and a maximum of 50 million rupees. The Rastra Bank's notice states that the bidding for deposit collection will have to be done at the interest rate, and multiple bidding can also be done at multiple interest rates.
The Rastra Bank's notice states that banks and financial institutions that want to place money in deposit collection can bid online until 2 pm today.
Only banks and financial institutions of 'A', 'B' and 'C' categories will be allowed to participate in the bidding for deposit collection devices. The National Bank has also stated that the deposit collection equipment purchased in this way can be used as collateral in other banks and financial institutions.
