On Kartik 17, Prime Minister Sushila Karki, Finance Minister Rameshwor Khanal, Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Kulman Ghising, Chief Secretary Eknarayan Aryal and Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry President Chandra Prasad Dhakal agreed to simplify the payment of the dedicated trunk line tariff and make arrangements for hearing the review.
In the discussion, it was said that the industrialists had verbally agreed to pay the amount equivalent to the first installment out of the 28 installments given by the Authority as a deposit, not as an 'installment' but as a 'disputed amount', and to connect the power line immediately and then proceed through the review, appeal and judicial process.
The Prime Minister's Office sent a letter to the Ministry of Energy on Friday. "It is requested that arrangements be made to simplify the payment of dedicated trunk line tariffs and to make arrangements for hearing reviews by reaching an agreement between the Nepal Electricity Authority, the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, and the concerned industrialists and the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, and to make necessary arrangements for the relevant bodies, industrialists and the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry to operate the industries," the letter states.
