A team from Delhi-based Adventure on Wheels, a company that tours tourists in the high Himalayan regions of India, including Leh, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, entered Nepal last week via the Gaddachauki border crossing with Bullet (Himalayan Royal Enfield) motorcycles. Adventure on Wheels had taken on the responsibility of taking six Indian tourists around Nepal on large motorcycles for adventure bike riding. That is why they came with motorcycles.

"We have been taking tourists to India and Nepal for five to seven years," said Sanjay Kumar, owner of Adventure Wheels. "Adventure-seeking tourists enjoy riding motorcycles. In Nepal, they are very happy to ride bikes in Manang and Mustang." He will take tourists to Nepal for 10 days. Foreign tourists will arrive in Pokhara from Kathmandu by air. Some of the motorcycles will be transported to Pokhara by car and some by foot.

The Adventure Wheels team will include motorcycle repairers, health workers, and rescue teams if necessary. They will not let any kind of problem happen to tourists. If the motorcycle breaks down, it will be repaired immediately, if any health problems are found, they will be treated, and if there is any difficulty, they will be rescued.

Sanjay said that while bringing and taking motorcycles, there is a lot of hassle due to the checks on the road. He said that the checks at various places and the stray animals along the road make it difficult to travel. India's Himalayan Motorcycle Adventure Company has also brought 10 Bullet motorcycles to Nepal this week. The company has also brought the vehicles from Pokhara for tourists to take on adventure riding.

'We have been providing adventure riding to tourists for 20 years,' said Shehzad, a representative of Himalaya Motorcycle Adventure, 'We bring motorcycles from there as per the demand of tourists, and we keep them in Nepal for 10/15 days as per the demand.' This time, he said, 10 motorcycles have been brought in for 10 days after completing the customs process.

Shehzad himself has been bringing motorcycles for tourists to ride from India in vehicles for two decades. He takes them to Pokhara in vehicles,  and then the tourists ride themselves and reach the high-mountainous and mountainous districts. Shehzad says that now, tourists prefer the Manang and Mustang regions for adventure riding. According to the Gaddachauki Customs Office, 80 motorcycles have been temporarily imported for adventure riding so far this year.

Customs Officer Dan Bahadur Thapa said that there is a provision for motorcycles imported for tourism activities to be used repeatedly or at once for a maximum of 6 months in a year.
