Insurance companies have received claims worth Rs 3.784 billion and 90 thousand due to the damage caused by the floods and landslides that occurred last October.

The highest number of 197 insurance claims has been filed in Sunsari. Similarly, 60 in Ilam, 80 in Kathmandu, 90 in Morang, 20 in Jhapa, 71 in Parsa, and 28 in Rautahat. According to the NRA, insurance claims worth Rs 23.23 billion have been filed for damage caused by the protests on September 23 and 24.
Similarly, insurance claims worth Rs 985.9 million were filed for damage caused by the floods and landslides of last Ashar. With the increase in losses due to natural hazards, the number of insurance claim applications has also increased significantly. Currently, 14 non-life insurance companies and four non-life microinsurance companies in Nepal have received insurance claim applications.
