Finance Minister Rameshwor Prasad Khanal has emphasized the need to resolve the shortcomings seen in revenue leakage through necessary collaboration and coordination with the concerned agencies.
In a meeting of the Revenue Leakage Control Coordination Committee held at the Birgunj Customs Office today, Finance Minister Khanal requested everyone to coordinate and work among the concerned bodies to control smuggling.
He instructed the concerned bodies to control smuggling from the place where it is transported rather than catching it on the way. 'I request them to separate those who bring goods for daily living and those who smuggle it and take necessary action,' said Finance Minister Khanal.
He expressed the view that all the bodies of the state should coordinate and cooperate with each other and take effective steps to control revenue leakage. 'All the bodies are one. We are not competitors. The responsibility of revenue is not only of the Ministry of Finance but of all the bodies of the state. Therefore, it is necessary to work hand in hand,' said Minister Khanal. 'I instruct them to jointly resolve the shortcomings seen in revenue leakage.'
Finance Minister Khanal stressed the need for effective work to prevent illegal import and export by coordinating and collaborating with all relevant bodies, including the local administration, customs office, and all three security mechanisms. 'It is necessary for all three security bodies to cooperate in information coordination,' he said. 'The issue of increasing the recovery target by the security bodies is also not very good. I urge you to pay attention to that.'
Finance Minister Khanal said that employees living at the border and employees related to revenue should behave politely and civilly with service recipients in speech and behavior. He called on all employees to work according to their feelings since we are deployed for service recipients.
