Hitendra Shakya appears before the bench of Supreme Court, Justice Niraula

Former Executive Director of Nepal Electricity Authority Hitendra Dev Shakya has filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court challenging the government's decision. His writ petition is scheduled for presentation on Tuesday. The hearing is scheduled before the bench of Justice Nripadhwaj Niraula.

The cabinet meeting had removed him from the Nepal Electricity Authority and transferred him to the Secretariat of the Water and Energy Commission by creating a special post.

Shakya has filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court demanding that his post be retained in the authority. The first hearing is scheduled for today. If the Supreme Court issues an interim order, he will return to the authority. Shakya was transferred and Manoj Silwal was made the executive director.

Shakya had previously filed a writ petition against Kulman Ghising. Ghising had also filed a writ petition after the KP Sharma Oli government removed him and appointed Shakya.
