Vehicles used in jeep safaris in Chitwan National Park and its buffer zone must be equipped with GPS technology. The park office has made this provision while granting permission to operate jeep safaris for the fiscal year 2082/83.
Chitwan National Park Information Officer Avinath Thapa said that it has been made mandatory to install a vehicle tracking and monitoring system in all vehicles used in safaris. "This will make it easier to monitor vehicles and directly observe and monitor which vehicles are where," he said.
Meanwhile, for the fiscal year 2082/83, an agreement has been reached between the park administration and the Nawalpur Tourism Committee for safaris from the eastern Nawalparasi section to the intermediate and national parks.
Seven vehicles have been granted permission for safaris as per the National Park and Wildlife Conservation Regulations, 2030. According to the agreement, two types of safaris can be operated, full day and off day, said Nawalpur Tourism Committee Chairman Phansram Mahato.
