The government has granted permission for the construction of three transmission lines so far in the current fiscal year. The Department of Power Development under the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation has granted permission for the construction of the Nalgad-Maintada transmission line, which is considered important for connecting the electricity of the Bheri Corridor to the national system.
The transmission line is 75 kilometers long. The department has stated that the transmission line with a total capacity of 400 kV can transmit electricity equivalent to 2,400 megawatts. The National Transmission Grid Company is constructing the transmission line. Similarly, permission has also been granted for the construction of the 33 kV Khorunga Khola transmission line. The transmission line is 4.38 kilometers long. The transmission line transmits 4.8 megawatts of electricity. The transmission line is being constructed to connect to the electricity system generated by the hydropower project. Similarly, Super Sardi Khola Hydropower is also constructing a 3.68 kilometer long transmission line with a capacity of 33 kV to connect to the electricity system generated. The transmission line will transmit 2.9 megawatts of electricity. The department has so far issued permits for the construction of a total of 274 small and large transmission lines. Similarly, survey permission has been granted for the construction of a total of eight transmission lines so far in the current fiscal year. Among those projects, Chameliya with a capacity of 132 kV is the middle one.
Permission has been given for the construction of Beldiya Solar Power Project, Falekhu Khola 132 kV Transmission Line Project, Janaki Solar Power Transmission Line, Dudhkoshi Fifth 220 kV Transmission Line Project, Samundratar Lapsephedi 232 kV Transmission Line.
Similarly, there are Dadankheti Burtibang 132 kV Transmission Line and Sani Bheri 132 kV Transmission Line projects. The department has so far granted survey permission for the construction of a total of 144 transmission lines.
Similarly, the department has so far received a total of 21 applications for survey permits for transmission lines. Out of which, only 11 projects have applied for permits so far in the current fiscal year.
