Insurance companies have claimed 16.5 billion rupees from Nepal Reinsurance Company for the damage caused by the protests on Bhadra 24.

As of Thursday, the Nepal Reinsurance Company has received a total of 2,733 reinsurance claims from non-life insurance companies, and the reinsurance claim amount is about 15.76 billion 43 million, according to the Insurance Authority.

Of which, the reinsurance company has so far paid about 1.63 billion 35 million in advance (PESKI) to non-life insurance companies and has deployed joint insurance surveyors to evaluate and monitor 60 claims.

Updated data on insurance claims for physical and other damages incurred during the protests has been received from non-life insurance companies.

A total of 3,166 insurance claims have been filed with 14 different non-life insurance companies and 4 micro non-life insurance companies, with a claim amount of about 23.20 billion 91 million, according to the non-life insurance companies.

According to the latest data received from non-life insurance companies, out of the total claim amount, about 2.198 billion, including advance payments, have been paid to insured persons so far.

Surveyors have been deployed for 2,791 claims to evaluate and monitor insurance claims for physical and other damages incurred during the protests, and the surveyors have submitted 654 survey reports so far, the Authority has said.
