Michael Foley has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ncell. His appointment will be effective from Kartik 15, 2082.

With the appointment of the new CEO, Syed Inamul Kabir, who has also been serving as the acting CEO, will continue his important role as the company’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

With over two decades of senior leadership experience in the telecommunications sector, Foley has a proven track record of successful leadership in leading companies in the sector.

Prior to joining Ncell, Foley was Head of French Africa at Airtel, where he was responsible for operations across seven Francophone African markets. Prior to that, he served as CEO of Telenor Pakistan (TP), leading the company through challenging business conditions, achieving significant success with market-leading growth, profitability, and employee engagement.

His previous leadership roles include CEO at Grameenphone (Bangladesh) and Telenor (Bulgaria), where he led significant business transformations to grow its customer base to over 70 million and achieve EBITDA growth of over 60 percent.

Foley has also served as Chairman of Tamir Microfinance (now Easypaisa, Pakistan) and Chairman of Telenor Health. He is currently the Chairman of Watu DRC SA, a subsidiary of Watu, Africa’s leading asset microfinance company.

Foley is a graduate of McGill University and holds Executive Certificates in Global Management and Governance from INSEAD. He is a dual Canadian-Kenyan citizen.
