The Department of Commerce, Supply and Consumer Protection has said that action will be taken against charging higher fees on bottled and jar water. The department published a notice on Tuesday and said that since the fee for plastic bottles and jars of water, which are used as daily consumables, has been fixed, action will be taken if it is found that more than the fee is charged.

department has informed through a notice that if it is found that water bottles and jars are sold and distributed for more than the specified amount, action will be taken according to the Consumer Interest Protection Act, 2075 and Regulations, 2076.

The department has requested the general public to inform the department or its subordinate office if it is found that the water seller is selling water at a higher price than the prescribed price.
