The Department of Commerce, Supply and Consumer Protection has once again drawn the attention of all concerned to keep the maximum retail price for the goods sold and distributed during the festival.

According to the department, during regular market monitoring, labels and price lists with the maximum retail price were not kept on various items including Bhai masala, copper/silver utensils and electronic materials used to make glitter, especially used on the occasion of Tihar.  The

department has mentioned that it is trying to maintain price stability by maintaining a balance between supply and demand in the market. For that, the department says that trade associations, organizations and businessmen as well as consumerist associations, organizations and consumers will have an equally important contribution.

The department has reminded consumers to buy items that have a label with the maximum retail price or a price list. It has also requested to inform the department's toll-free number 1137 if there is any complaint of the consumers.
