Minister of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Kulman Ghising has monitored the electricity load transmission center under Nepal Electricity Authority.

On Monday evening, Minister Ghising inspected the center in Suchatar, Kathmandu and got information about the state of electricity generation, transmission and distribution system, grid operation, electricity demand and supply management, electricity export, electricity projects damaged by floods and landslides.

Minister Ghising, who is also the ex-executive director of the authority, discussed the necessary policy and technical improvements to be made in the short-term, medium-term and long-term to make the electricity system more reliable, quality, safe and modern.

Stating that the structures damaged by floods and landslides should be repaired and the electricity service should be started immediately  Ghising requested to keep the office under the same Wamojim in a state of preparedness by keeping the complaint of the fire burning as a high priority.

He requested the authority management to run power plants, transmission lines and substations at full capacity, to pay special attention to the construction of Marsyangdi Corridor 220 KV, Hetounda-Dhalkebar 400 KV transmission, which are considered important for electricity supply, and to start power management for the upcoming winter season.

Manoj Silwal, executive of the authority and Chandan Kumar Ghosh, director of the center, informed about electricity generation, demand, supply, export, system operation conditions and problems.

Executive Director Silwal said that the team is ready to restore the structures damaged by floods and landslides and start the electricity service.
