The Minister of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Physical Infrastructure and Transport and Urban Development Kulman Ghising has said that he will not break the contract of dilapidated development projects due to prejudice against any construction company. In a meeting with the representative of the Federation of Nepal Construction Professionals on Sunday, Minister Ghising made it clear that the contract with the construction professional who stalled the project for years without work will be terminated.

"There is a widespread trend of accepting a project with less than the estimated cost but not working. If I accept a contract with a lower amount, I will go to my house, the bank guarantee will be confiscated, the work will not be done unless there is a fear of penalty. Contracts will be signed but projects that have not been worked for a long time should not be kept anymore," Minister Ghising said. Being an engineer myself, I am fully aware of the entire contract process, even if the work is not done from the project side, we also look at it, we will not punish anyone unfairly, there is no penalty, we must stop the trend of doing whatever is done.' Mentioning that the builders who are doing good work abroad have not failed while working in Nepal, Minister Ghising urged them to convey the message that the builders of Nepal are also capable of completing their projects on time and with quality.
