Finance Minister Rameshwar Khanal has interacted with private sector industrialists who were affected by the protests and demonstrations that took place on August 23 and 24.
Finance Minister Khanal held a discussion with the president and representative of private sector representative organizations at the Ministry of Finance on Tuesday regarding the damage to private business and investment and addressing the problems of industrialists. On behalf of the private sector, industry professionals from the Federation of Nepal Chambers and Commerce, Nepal Industry Confederation, Nepal Auto Dealers Association, Chaudhary and Bhatbhateni Group also participated in the
interaction.
In that discussion, the private sector requested to convince the Nepal government for the security of industry business, promotion of industry business and investment promotion. The private sector demanded that the government of Nepal should make a decision as soon as possible regarding tax concessions, concessional loans, arrangements for payment of insurance money as soon as possible, etc. In the
interaction, Finance Secretary Ghanshyam Upadhyay informed that banks and customs offices will be open on public holidays other than Dashai and that the government is trying to open the Tatopani crossing road which has been obstructed due to landslides.
Addressing the industrialists, Finance Minister Khanal on Tuesday informed that he inspected the damaged structures of Auto Sector Thapathali, Bhatbhateni Superstore Koteshwar, Annapurna and Kantipur Media House and Traffic Police Office .
During the observation, the Finance Minister said that he is familiar with the problems of the private sector. He also informed that it has been decided to set up a fund for the reconstruction of the damage caused to the public and private sectors. He also said that since the problem of
industrialists is also a problem of the government, an integrated business revival plan will be introduced to get out of this problem. He also said that the government of Nepal is positive for the concessions that can be given through tax policy and monetary policy.
In the coming days, he instructed the employees working in all public agencies to provide services so that the private sector and citizens can feel the face of the government from the points of providing public services.
