Seema Tamang (Kantipur Dainik) got 200 votes, Arjun Tamang (Tourism Pati) 141, Kamal Dhital (Bahrakhari) 185, Bhojraj Bhandari (Corporate News) 147, Raju Baskota (Clikmandu) 159 votes were elected as members of Sejan.

Bhattarai as the president of Sejan, Basnet as the general secretary

Bhagwat Bhattarai of Setopati has been elected as the president of Nepal Economic Journalists Association (SEJAN).  Bhattarai was elected with 110 votes from the 27th general assembly and convention of the session held here on Saturday.

His competitors Biswas Regmi got 92 votes and Asha Thapaliya got 41 votes. Jeevan Basnet of the business daily has been elected unopposed as the vice president of the

committee. Kamal Kumar Basnet of Rashtriya Samachar Samiti (RASS) has been elected as the Secretary General of the new working committee with 139 votes. His competitor Achyut Puri of Online Khabar got 104 votes. 

Likewise, Keshu Lamichhane of Ukaloka has been elected as treasurer with 133 votes. His rival Mamta Thapa of Annapurna Daily got 108 votes. Shankar Pandit of Himalayan Television was elected unopposed as the secretary of the committee.

Meanwhile, certificates have been distributed to the newly elected working committee . Chief Election Officer Dharmendra Jha distributed the certificates. He expressed his belief that the newly elected working committee will show a strong presence in the issue of the economic sector. He said that recently the role of journalists who use the pen in the economic 'bit' is increasing, Sejan stressed that the capacity development of active journalists in this field, the issues of journalists and economic issues should be highlighted and contributed more. . 

The election committee had three members including advocate Santosh Tiwari and Ram Prasad Dahal. 266 journalists are involved in the session and 246 votes were cast in the session.
