The festive season has begun. The time has come for those living in the city-market to think about when to go home and what to take with them. But at this time, they have one concern - what are the roads going home like?

A road that is always of interest to those going west is the Narayangadh-Butwal road section. Its progress is relatively not good . The work of this road section, which was expanded seven years ago, has not yet been completed. Since the beginning of its expansion, 6 Dasain-Tihar have been completed, but the work is still not finished.  There is more traffic on this stretch of road during the festival than before the

. As a result, passengers may have to struggle to go home during the festival. Chudaraj Dhakal, project director of the Directorate of Projects (ADB), says that this year the public will not have to suffer as in the past. "There is no problem in other sections except the lower one, work is being done so that there will be no problem," he said.

According to the contract agreement in March 2075, the work of this road section should have been completed by July 2079. But due to covid-19 and lack of construction materials, its deadline was extended for the first time till July 11, 2080, but the work was not completed within that time. The deadline was extended for the second time until July 8, 2081, but the work was not completed.

The road with a distance of 113 km has been divided into two sections. The contract was awarded to China State Construction Engineering Corporation. By dividing it into two parts, the contract amount is 16 billion 99 million 52 lakh 96 thousand rupees. According to the project, 114 km out of 113 km has been blacklisted. Similarly, Chief Dhakal said that 80 km of two-way road has already been blacked out.

'Now only the 9 km section has to be paved and sloped,' Dhakal said, 'Slope work is being done in Daunne now, there is some problem due to the monsoon, it will be easy in this section after Dasain.'

According to the project, traffic will be made easier by placing the machine on the road during the festival. About 10 to 15 thousand vehicles pass through this section every day. "During the festival, this number is more," he said, "Accordingly, we have worked to ease the road during the festival."
