An apple festival is going to be held in Kathmandu for the first time in order to make the consumers of the capital easily taste the apples grown in the high hilly and Himalayan districts of Karnali.

According to Kala Ghar, Sayon Festival will be held daily from 11 am to 6 pm at Kala Ghar located in Shankhamul, Kathmandu for three days from 20th of August to 22nd.

organized by Kala Ghar and Karnali Ghar in co-organization, there will be an exhibition of apples grown in Karnali and products produced from apples. In the festival, more than a dozen types of apples including Delicious, Royal, Golden, Gala and Fuji produced in Karnali will be exhibited. 

Similarly, the organizer has informed that dried rice, cider, vinegar, brandy and other dishes made from apples will be presented. Not only the apple exhibition, consumers can go to the festival and buy apples as per their needs.

Even though Karnali's apples are already known for their taste, a festival is going to be formally organized for the first time to increase its consumption in the market.

Similarly, the original culture of Karnali will be the main attraction of the festival. Dhami Naach, Hudke Naach, Magal and other performances are included in the program.
