In August 2025, 88 thousand 680 tourists have entered Nepal. According to the statistics released by the Nepal Tourism Board today, compared to last year, there has been a 22 percent increase in tourist arrivals in August this year.

According to the statistics of the board, among the tourists who came to Nepal, 35,505 or 40 percent of tourists came from India, 7,533 or 8.5 percent from China, 6,686 or 6.8 percent from America, 5,956 or 6.7 percent from Sri Lanka and 4,262 or 4.8 percent from Bangladesh. 

In the period of eight months from January to August of 2025, seven lakh 36 thousand 562 tourists have entered. According to the statistics released by the board, 47 thousand 137 tourists or 53 percent came from South Asian (SAARC) countries, while 15 thousand 777 tourists or 17.8 percent came from other countries of Asia, 11 thousand 132 tourists or 12.6 percent from Europe and 2 thousand 435 tourists or 2.7 percent from Oceania. 

Similarly, 7,293 or 8.2 percent of tourists came from America, 944 or 1.1 percent from the Middle East, 322 or 0.4 percent from Africa and 3,640 or 4.1 percent from other countries. In July 2025, 70 thousand 193 tourists entered. 

The chief executive officer of the board, Deepak Raj Joshi, said that Nepal's tourism, which was hit by the corona epidemic, is gradually recovering. He said, 'Even with the addition of Air India Express from India, the number of tourists coming from India has increased. We are hopeful that there will be a continuous increase in tourist arrivals in the coming period.'
