There will be a flight to Australia from Pokhara International Airport. China's Sichuan Airlines has prepared to fly to Australia via Chendu. For this purpose, Sichuan Airlines has sought permission from the regulator Nepal Civil Aviation Authority.

According to the authority's information officer Gyanendra Bhool, Sichuan Airlines has requested permission to fly to Australia via Chhendu. He said that an informal discussion has been held for the flight permit and preparations are being made to issue the permit after completing the necessary procedures.

The company plans to fly from September. Sichuan Airlines has planned to fly to Australia from Pokhara. There has been an informal conversation about flying to Australia via Chendu from Pokhara. Bilateral discussions are being held to formally end the process. Soon the flight schedule will be submitted by the concerned airline,' said information officer Bhool.

If there is this flight, it is believed that it will be convenient for the Nepalese traveling to and from Australia. Earlier, Sichuan Airlines operated a charter flight at Pokhara Airport for some time. The company wants to fly regularly to Australia as a new destination.

Airbus 'A' 319 of this airline started flying at Pokhara Airport for the first time on June 6, 2080. A chartered flight was flown for the purpose of bringing and taking away the Chinese representatives, players, spectators and tourists participating in the 'Nepal-China Friendship Dragon Boat Race Festival 2023' held at Fewatal on 8th and 9th of June.

According to Jagannath Niraula, General Manager of Pokhara International Airport, only Himalaya Airlines is flying regularly in Pokhara. The company is planning to fly to Australia from September.

Meanwhile, Bhutan's private airline company Bhutan Airlines (Tasi) has also prepared chartered flights at Pokhara Airport. The information officer of the authority, Bhoole, said that airlines have requested permission for two/three chartered flights from Pokhara to Paro International Airport. According to him, Bhutan Airlines will conduct passenger chartered flights for four days on September 28 and October. Permission is sought .

Bhutan Airlines had already said it would fly . "If the chartered flight is sustainable, it has already been decided to give 'Fifth Freedom Flight' to the airlines of one country from Pokhara and Bhairahawa to another country via Pokhara, like Kathmandu.

Initially, Bhutan Airlines will fly Kathmandu-Paro-Kathmandu. If the flight is regular, the airline plans to fly Paro-Pokhara-Delhi and Delhi-Pokhara-Paro,' said information officer Bhool. The authority said that Bhutan Airlines will be allowed to fly within a few days.

Currently, Himalaya Airlines is flying regularly to Pokhara International Airport one day a week. Himalaya is operating a flight connecting Kathmandu-Lhasa-Pokhara-Lhasa-Kathmandu. Himalaya started its first commercial flight two years after Pokhara International Airport came into operation. The authority believes that if Himalayan as well as Sichuan and Bhutan airlines fly at the airport, the airport will be operational and it will be convenient for the passengers going to the destination.

Pokhara International Airport, which is a project of national pride, was inaugurated on 17th January 2079. 71 years after Tribhuvan International Airport came into operation, Gautam Budh International Airport at Bhairahawa in Rupandehi was put into operation as the second international airport in the country. Six months later, Pokhara International Airport was inaugurated. International flights are continuing to expand at this airport.

Pokhara Airport, spread over an area of 3,900 ropani, was built at a cost of 22 billion. With the capacity to serve eight million passengers annually, this airport has a runway of 2,500 meters in length and 45 meters in width.

Currently Bhutan's government airline Druk Air and Bhutan Airlines are flying regularly to Kathmandu. Bhutan Airlines is flying Paro-Kathmandu-Delhi and Delhi-Kathmandu-Paro four days a week using 'Fifth Freedom Flight'. Druk Air is doing Paro-Kathmandu-Paro-Delhi-Kathmandu 'over flight'. It is believed that if the service is operated on September 28 and October for four days with the permission of passenger chartered flights, it will also help in its promotion .

According to the authority, although there is no problem in allowing chartered flights, for regular flights, permission will now be given to fly through Pokhara and Bhairahawa. Nepal currently has air service agreements with 42 countries.

Bhairahawa and Pokhara flights will be added when the air contract is reviewed . Information Officer Bhool said that there is no problem in allowing any airline company to operate chartered flights from Pokhara and Bhairahawa. According to the information of the authority, 30 airlines including three air service providers of Nepal have been operating international flights through Tribhuvan International Airport.

Jazeera and Thai AirAsia flying to Bhairahawa

Jazeera Airways and Thai Air Asia are going to operate flights again at Gautam Budh Airport in Bhairahawa. Bhairahawa flights were suspended by both these airlines in the past. Thai AirAsia has prepared to fly in the "Winter Schedule" starting from October 26.

The airline plans to operate two flights a week . Similarly, Jazeera Air has also planned to fly in the winter season. Nepal Airlines Corporation (Nepal Airlines), which is currently flying regularly from Bhairahawa, has not been able to fly for a long time.

It is said that the airlines flying from Kathmandu to Malaysia and Bhairahawa from Malaysia have suspended their flights due to lack of aircraft. Various chartered flights are being operated at Gautam Buddha Airport. Bhool, the information officer of the authority, expressed the belief that Thai AirAsia and Jazeera Airlines will fly regularly from the winter season.

Jazeera is currently flying from Kuwait to Kathmandu. The authority believes that after the start of flights of Jajira Airlines from Bhaiharwa and Sichuan Airlines from Pokhara, other foreign airlines will also be attracted to both airports.

Jazeera has already flown twice from Bhairahawa. This airline, which started flying for the second time in February 2079, had previously been flying for two and a half months and suspended the flight citing technical reasons. Airlines are going to start regular flights again.

The government has also given attractive discount facilities to foreign airlines flying to Pokhara and Bhairahawa. Currently, all the charges from international flights from here have been discounted . There is no need to pay any additional fee except 25 percent for the 'ground handling' service provided by Nepal Airlines Corporation. Discounts and concessions for international flights from these two airports have been given by the government since July 28, 2081. The government has given concessions according to the "Complete Improvement of the Civil Aviation Sector and Action Plan for the Operation of Gautam Budh and Pokhara International Airports". For international flights of these two airports, there is a discount on the passenger service fee of three thousand rupees per passenger.

Full parking, landing and navigation fees and 75 percent discount on ground handling fees given by Nepal Airlines have been given for international flights of these two airports.
