High mountains all around. Still water standing in the middle. Peaceful and pleasant environment. The clean, beautiful lake is ready to welcome visitors. Many colors of flowers have made the atmosphere here charming. They are fascinated to reach Jalpatal to observe the scene here.

Jalpatal located in Dhorpatan Municipality-9 of Baglung is very attractive. Jalpatal, at an altitude of 4,400 meters above sea level, remains anonymous.

Shepherds come to Patan around Jalpatal to graze sheep during the rainy season. Swargasari spends four months of rain in Patan. Tourists have not been able to reach Jalpatal, where the sheep herd has been reached. Tal Baglung is located in the border area of Dhorpatan Municipality and Putha Uttarganga Rural Municipality of Rukum East, so shepherds from the two districts live here .

Jalpatal can be reached in a two-day trek from Dhorpatan valley. But so far there is a lack of fast track leading to this lake. Tourists who reach Chitput often travel to Jalpatal and return. Jalpatal can be reached from Pakhathar in Dhorpatan via Garpacheda, Furse Deurali, Phagun.

Jeevan Pun, president of Dhorpatan Hoteliers' Association, said that publicity is needed to make tourists see the beauty of the lake and the natural scenery around it. He argues that the state should do the publicity as they have not yet been able to attract tourists to Jalpatal. He says that it is necessary to build a footpath leading to the

lake. He suggested that the local, state and federal governments along with the tourism board should take initiatives to attract tourists to Jalpatal, which is a herdsman's residence. 'Until last year, Bukipatan was in abeyance. Now more than 100 tourists reach Tikadhara, Garpacheda every day after the construction of the infrastructure including the footpath leading to it,'  he says, 'now Jalpatal also needs to be propagated and infrastructure built . It seems that the arrival of tourists should be increased . We fulfill the responsibility to be done on behalf of the locals. The state should also take steps accordingly.'

There is a lack of information board along with the development of footpaths to take tourists up to Jalpatal. If it can be promoted, the number of tourists reaching the lake will increase as it is a virgin destination, says Vinod Dhungana, a journalist who came to visit from Tanahun. "After seeing the view of Jalpatal, it seems that this is the piece of heaven," he described.

He says that it is an excellent destination for domestic and foreign tourists who want to trek to a new destination away from the noise. However, for that, he said, an organized footpath and information board should be kept.

'The lake is very charming . The beauty of the surroundings entices many . The lake also needs to be managed a little . Dhungana said, "There is a need for protection along with the development and promotion of the infrastructure. There is no doubt that along with Bukipatan, Jalpatal will also become a tourist destination.'

The deputy head of Dhorpatan Municipality, Dhan Bahadur Kayat, says that to develop Kayat Lake as a tourist destination, information boards will be placed in places and footpaths will be constructed. He said that since Dhorpatan is far away from the valley, the municipality's resources alone will not be enough to build the east bank in cooperation with the state and federal governments. Kayat said that he planned to hold a tourism festival to promote other tourist destinations of Dhorpatan including Jalpatal.

He said, 'This lake is still overcrowded, although tourists from around Dhorpatan sometimes arrive, they have not been able to come from other places. How come there is no publicity. We have now planned to promote Bukipatan area with Jalpatal. This year we will build information boards and footpaths in some places for tourists. We will cooperate with the higher authorities for the unfinished work.'
