Nepal Tourism Board Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Deepakraj Joshi has said that Nagarkot is a model tourist destination built with the investment of the private sector.

Speaking at the Nagarkot Documentary Handover Program held on the occasion of the Nagarkot Visit Year-2082 at the Nepal Tourism Board Auditorium on Thursday, CEO Joshi has expressed his commitment to re-brand Nagarkot, a popular tourist destination developed under the leadership of the private sector, and promote it at the international level. He said, 'Nagarkot has been established as an excellent model tourist destination based on cooperation even in the midst of mutual competition among hoteliers. Today, the documentary which has been made in collaboration, we will show it to foreign tourists in various events on international platforms.'

Mentioning that the private sector has made good investments in Nagarkot and the road network has also improved, CEO Joshi also said that tourists going to Nagarkot should pay attention to quality services. The documentary entitled 'Beyond Sunrise, Sunset and the Himalayas' prepared in cooperation with the big hotels of Nagarkot, Club Himalaya, Hotel Country Villa, Hotel Mystic Mountain, Kavya Himalayas, Solti Tayo Resort, has been handed over to Nepal Tourism Board, Nagarkot Visit Year 2082 and Nagarkot Naldum Tourism Development Committee. 

Director of Club Himalaya, Yogendra Shakya, expressed his belief that the documentary prepared covering Nagarkot's historical places, natural beauty and tourist potential will help in tourism promotion. Shakya also informed that this documentary was made with the aim of promoting Nagarkot, which is famous as a tourist destination and known as a model destination, in the country and in the world tourism market. 

Shakya, a senior hotelier, added, 'Nagarkot is now moving forward in the 'comparting model' (competition as well as cooperation). This initiative of four municipalities to promote a single destination for the first time can be considered historic.' 

According to Shakya, investments are being made in Nagarkot with high-class facilities from old hotels to new ones, which can be extended to other destinations in Nepal as a model. Recalling the past of Nagarkot, he said, 'When I came here in 1988, it was Nangodanda, the mountains were clearly visible. But due to climate change, the snow has started to melt. The time has come to re-brand Nagarkot not only as 'Sunrise-Sunset' but also in other aspects.' Tok Bahadur Waiba, the head of Mandandeupar municipality, said during the

video transfer program that Nagarkot is the confluence of four municipalities in three districts, so its promotion is important. Narendra Dev Bhatt, a member of the Nepal Board, said that the private sector has contributed significantly to the development of Nagarkot and mentioned that it is a destination where even the blind can experience the beauty of the mountains.  Suman Ghimire, senior manager of the

board, said that the documentary produced on the occasion of the Nagarkot visit in 2082 was an excellent example of public-private partnership. He also said that Nagarkot will be presented in a more attractive way in the world tourism market through this campaign along with other promotional activities and about 54 programs of international level.
