Birgunj Customs: Revenue collection of 80.92 billion from the import of petroleum products

Petroleum products worth 1 trillion 91 billion 88 million rupees were imported through the Birgunj border in the last financial year.  Diesel, petrol, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), aviation turbine fuel (ATF) and kerosene have been imported.

Overall, compared to the year 2080/81, the import of petroleum products through this channel has decreased by one billion and 94 million rupees.

In that period, although the import of petroleum products decreased on the basis of price, the revenue received from it increased by 10.23 percent or seven billion 51 million rupees. Deepak Lamichhane, Chief Customs Administrator of Birgunj Customs Office, said that the office received the most revenue from the import of petroleum products during the last year. 'The customs revenue here is the import of petroleum products and  It depends on the import of vehicles,' he said. 

In the last year, the office has collected revenue amounting to 80 billion 92 million rupees from the import of five types of petroleum products. Whereas in the previous year 2080/81, the revenue collection from the import of all five types of petroleum products was 73 billion 40 million rupees.  According to the

office, 11 lakh 49 thousand 521 kiloliters of diesel worth 99 billion 95 crore rupees were imported last year. During the same period of the previous year, 1 million 55 thousand 160 kiloliters of diesel worth 1 billion five billion 87 million rupees were imported. 

The office has collected 45 billion 72 million rupees in revenue from diesel import in the last year, while in the same period of the previous year, it had collected 42 billion 36 million rupees in revenue.

Similarly, 453 thousand 864 kiloliters of petrol worth 38 billion 72 million rupees were imported last year. Whereas in the same period of the previous year, 394,723 kiloliters of petrol worth 39.2 billion rupees was imported. 25 billion 66 crores from petrol import last year. A revenue of Rs. While in the previous year, 22.62 billion rupees of revenue was collected from petrol.

Last year, 3189 million 24 thousand 684 kg of LPG worth 36 billion 37 million rupees was imported through this channel. While in the same period of the previous year, 279 million 48 thousand 878 kg of LPG worth 30 billion was imported. The office collected 6.81 billion rupees from LPG last year and 5.60 billion rupees in the previous year. 

One lakh 80 thousand 663 kiloliters of ATF worth 16.14 billion rupees was imported through this channel last year. Whereas in the previous year, one lakh 73 thousand 484 kiloliters of ATF worth 18 billion 21 crore rupees were imported. The office collected two billion 53 million rupees from ATF import last year and two billion 64 million rupees in the previous year. 

Seven thousand 930 kiloliters of kerosene worth Rs 69 crore was imported through this channel last year. While in the same period of the previous year, six thousand 820 kiloliters of kerosene worth Rs 71 crore was imported. Last year, revenue of 20 million rupees was received from the import of kerosene, while in the previous year, revenue of 18 million rupees was collected.
