In the financial year 2081/082, the business of cardamom started from 80 thousand and reached 112 thousand pratiman. One mind has 40 kilos. Nepal could not get the same income as the previous financial year even though it was traded at a good price. Exports were 3.2 percent less than the previous year.
According to the data of Mechi Customs Office Kankarvitta, in the previous financial year 2080/081, cardamom worth 7.93 billion 9 lakh 8 thousand worth was exported to India. In the last financial year, exports of 7 billion 674 million 37 thousand were made. This is 25 crore 68 lakh 71 thousand rupees less.
According to the customs office, 50,000,000 kilos were exported last year and 4,294,000 kilos were exported last year. Most of the cardamom produced in Nepal is exported through Mechi Customs. A small quantity is exported from Birgunj customs.
Nirmal Bhattarai, President of the Cardamom Traders Association, says that due to the decrease in production, exports have decreased and rupees have also decreased. 98 percent of the cardamom produced in Nepal is exported to India, according to the Cardamom Business Association.
