The meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Monday decided to appoint Joint Secretary Pokharel as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Insurance Authority until further arrangements are made.
After receiving a complaint about Sharad Ojha, chairman of the Nepal Insurance Authority Board of Directors, the Cabinet meeting formed a three-member investigation committee under the chairmanship of former high court judge Krishna Giri in accordance with subsection 2 of section 12 of the Insurance Act 2079. Ojha was automatically suspended after the inquiry committee was formed.
Meanwhile, the chairman of the investigation committee Giri, members Jeevanprakash Sitaula and Kapildev Oli have received the letter today.
