More than one and a half billion remittances have been received in the country in one month. The remittance inflow for the month of May 2082 is 1 trillion 76 billion 32 million rupees. In the same month of the previous year, such inflow was 1 trillion 28 billion 91 crore rupees.

According to the data published by the Nepal Rastra Bank, the remittance inflow has increased by 15.5 percent in the eleven months of the current financial year 2081/82 and has reached 15 trillion 32 billion 93 crore rupees. The remittance inflow increased by 17.2 percent in the same period of the previous year.

During that period, remittance inflow in US dollars increased by 12.7 percent and reached 11.25 billion. In the previous year, such flow had increased by 15.2 percent.

According to Rashtra Bank, the annual point consumer inflation rate in May 2082 was 2.72 percent. In the same month of the previous year, such inflation was 4.17 percent. In the month under review, the inflation of the food and beverages group was 0.54 percent and the inflation of the non-food and services group was 3.94 percent. Inflation for these groups was 5.85 percent and 3.07 percent respectively during the corresponding period of the previous year.

During the review period, the current account is in surplus by Rs 307 billion 31 crore. During the same period of the previous year, the current account was in surplus by 200 billion 38 million. In US dollars, the current account which was in surplus of 1.51 billion in the same period of the previous year, was in surplus by 2.26 billion during the review period.

According to Rashtra Bank, the net capital transfer during the review period was 8.96 billion rupees. During the same period of the previous year, such transfer was 5.46 billion. Similarly, foreign direct investment (equity only) of 11.9 billion rupees has been received during the review period. During the same period of the previous year, such foreign direct investment (equity only) was 8 billion 24 crores.

As of June, the balance sheet is in surplus of 491 billion 44 crore rupees. During the same period of the previous year, the balance sheet was in surplus by 425 billion 67 crores. In the US dollar, the surplus of 3 billion 20 million in the same period of the previous year has remained in surplus of 3 billion 62 million during the review period.

During the 11 months of the current year, the number of Nepalis who took the final work permit (institutional and individual-new) for foreign employment is 4 lakh 52 thousand 324 and the number of those who took the work permit again is 3 lakh 8 thousand 67. In the same period of the previous year, such numbers were 4 lakh 21 thousand 356 and 2 lakh 61 thousand 210 respectively.
