Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel has said that the tourism sector is the basis of Nepal's prosperity.
Speaking at an interaction program on "Economy of Economy. Decade Journal Public and Tourism Budget Priority, Implementation and Achievement" organized in Kathmandu on Saturday, he mentioned that although there are many sectors for prosperity, tourism is an important sector. He said that there are countless possibilities of tourism in Nepal and internal and external investment is needed to promote it.
The participation of the private sector in the construction of tourism infrastructure is indispensable, he said, 'We have various other options for prosperity. Among them, tourism is a powerful option. It has countless possibilities. We should gradually promote investment in this sector. Not only domestic investment, but also foreign investment is needed. The state should convey the message of tourism as an attractive destination, attract the private sector for investment.'
According to him, the same approach has been taken into account during budgeting. In addition, he also stressed on the need to move towards development and prosperity while maintaining political stability in the country.
