Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank Vishwanath Poudel has invested about 1.5 million shares/debentures. It is mentioned in the asset statement released by Paudel that he has invested 15 lakh 36 thousand 589 shares (14 crore 5 lakh 67 thousand rupees) in 7 different companies in the name of himself and his wife.
Among the mentioned shares, Poudel has stated that Sanima Mai Hydropower Company has ordinary (converted from promoter to ordinary) and all the remaining promoter shares. It is said that the investment was made from self-earnings and ancestral property.
Similarly, Paudel's wife Pratibha Sharma owns one house and land in Sambu and Nawalparasi Gaindakot of Lalitpur and 45 tolas of gold and diamond jewelery worth Rs. 1.5 million. According to the current price, the price of gold is equal to about 87 lakh rupees.
Paudel has kept cash deposits of around 27 lakh rupees in various banks and financial institutions. He has a deposit account in 6 financial institutions, three of which have been opened in his name and three in his wife's name. Among them, there are 2 dollar accounts.
