The 30,000 tons of urea fertilizer that the government is going to import with India through the Government-Government (JTUG) process, targeting the Barkhe paddy crop, will arrive at the Birgunj border within a week.

Durga Prasad Pandey, head of Madhesh Regional Office Birganj, said that the work of packing the manure that arrived at Kolkata port in India in sacks to bring to Nepal is going on.

'As the fertilizer is in the process of packing, there is a possibility that it will enter Nepal this week,' he said, 'The railway rack bringing fertilizer from Kolkata will arrive in Birgunj within three days.' Aditya Birla Company is bringing this fertilizer from India to Nepal. The company has received a contract for the supply of fertilizer for this consignment from the Government of India.

Earlier, Pandey said that the second railway rack under the company's consignment of 30,000 tons of urea fertilizer arrived at the Sirsia dry port in Birganj on Wednesday. "The first rack arrived at Raxaul and the second rack arrived at the dry port," he said. Sun International is the supplier of 30,000 tons of urea fertilizer for

company and 30,000 tons of salt trading. According to Pandey, since it has brought only 35 thousand tons of fertilizer in one ship from Qatar, immediately both institutes will get only 16/16 thousand tons of urea fertilizer.

After the supplier company brings the rest of the fertilizer from the second ship, the fertilizer of the consignment will gradually enter Nepal. Out of the 16,000 tons of urea currently coming, Birganj office will get 6,700 tons. Bhairahawa and Biratnagar regional offices will share the rest.

Pandey said that he is optimistic that the demand for urea fertilizer will be met in the coming Barkhe paddy crop season as urea fertilizer has started coming in continuously and 'Jeetuji' fertilizer is also sure to arrive.
