In the 11 months of the current financial year, exports have increased by one billion rupees. According to the data of the customs department, goods worth 1 trillion 39 billion 262 million rupees were exported in 11 months of the last financial year. In the same period of the current financial year, goods worth 2.47 billion 57.2 million rupees have been exported.
According to the department, exports have increased by 77.77 percent compared to last financial year. In the financial year 2078/79, goods worth 2.3 billion were exported for the first time. Since then, now (in 11 months of 2081/82), exports have exceeded 2 trillion 47 billion rupees, the department said. Overall export trade increased due to edible oil. The data of the department shows that the share of imports in the total foreign trade has decreased while exports have increased.
In the last 11 months of the financial year, the share of exports in the total trade was 8.74 percent and the share of imports was 91.26 percent. In the current financial year, the share of exports has increased while the share of imports has decreased. The share of exports in total foreign trade is 13.08 percent and the share of imports is 86.92 percent. According to the
department, diesel, soybean crude oil, petrol, cooking gas and other items are imported the most. From July to May of the current financial year, diesel alone has come worth 1 trillion 15 billion 55 million 1 lakh rupees. The import of crude soybean oil is 95.72 billion 61 million rupees, petrol is 58.58 billion 9 million rupees and cooking gas is 57.36 billion 77 million rupees.
The share of raw soybean, sunflower and palm oil in the total import trade of 11 months of the current financial year is 8 percent. Exports include refined soybean oil,
Sunflower seeds and oil, carpet, cardamom etc. Exports of processed soybean oil 93.51 billion 71 million, sunflower seeds and oil 11.33 billion 89 million, carpet 9.78 billion 10 million and cardamom 7.19 billion 7 million rupees have been exported.
The main reason for the increase in exports is refined soybean oil. It accounts for 37.77 percent of total exports. Along with refined soybean oil, refined sunflower oil is also the reason for the increase in exports.
