Ambita Bhandari, owner of Biratnagar-based Barah Herbal Industry, is a successful woman entrepreneur. Bhandari, who has been operating the herbal industry since 2074, is currently producing 21 types of products related to beauty parlors including hair oil, hair pack, shampoo, face serum. Bhandari said that about 2.5 million has been invested and good income is being obtained from the industry.

Bhandari, who currently employs four people, participated in the 'Certificate Course' under Nabil School of Social Entrepreneurship (Nabil SSE). While starting the industry, there was a determination towards the business, but there was no good knowledge about it. He said that after participating in the program, he gained confidence along with knowledge about packaging, marketing, accounting, etc. 

In the early days, the business was not able to pick up speed due to the lack of knowledge on how to operate the industry. Therefore, even though a large investment was made, it did not give good returns,'' she shared her experience, 'Meanwhile, I got an opportunity to participate in a certificate course run at the Mahendra Morang Adarsh ​​Multipurpose Campus in Biratnagar. After taking the course, not only did he get the necessary knowledge and skills related to business, but he also got support for expanding the business network.''

"When I started the business, I didn't have enough knowledge about entrepreneurship, but I was determined to do some venture and become independent," she said. To do business one should have knowledge about it. In the beginning, I was doing normal business, but after being able to join the program, my professional life changed a lot.'' He says that the certificate course has developed professional thinking, skills and art in him. She said that now the business can be carried forward in a more organized and modern manner. "Now there is help to expand the business and face the challenges," she said.

Karki says that after participating in the fellowship program under Nabil SSE, he learned a lot of business knowledge and skills. "Only after participating in the fellowship did I get the chance to learn the necessary skills to turn the product into a business," he said. His experience is that he is not limited only as a farmer after joining the

program. "Earlier I was limited to coffee farming and goat rearing, now I am expanding my business and am able to market the products of more than 500 farmers," he said. Nabil Bank started the SSE program in 2078 to contribute to the creation of entrepreneurs in Nepal. Under which two types of programs are being conducted namely 'Fellowship and Certification'. So far, 76 people have been trained in four batches (cohorts) under the fellowship program. The bank claims that 60 enterprises have been established out of them and about 1,500 jobs have been created. Currently, 20 more people have been selected under the fifth batch.  It is said that the

program has been providing consultancy to entrepreneurs in the fields of information technology (education, transport, e-commerce and health), agriculture, food processing, handicrafts, hospitality, natural products, environmental protection, art and music and tourism, as well as providing support in business expansion.

Apart from the fact that the entrepreneurs benefited from this, positive thinking and hope flowed in the society through job creation and entrepreneurship. It is said that this program was started on the initiative of Nirwan Chaudhary, the owner of the bank, to promote social enterprises in Nepal.

"Young people had enthusiasm and energy but lacked the necessary guidance, skills and experience for business. Nabil Bank has started this course with the aim of meeting their needs," said Manoj Kumar Gyawali, Chief Executive Officer of Nabil Bank. Gyawali said that this program was brought. He said that the program helps people who have new ideas and who are looking for guidance by recognizing their potential, as well as supporting people who are making positive changes in the local community and contributing to achieving the goal of sustainable development.

But there are some criteria set for this. In order to join SSE, one must be a Nepali citizen who has completed 18 years of age to participate. After being selected for the program, a minimum of 90% attendance is required, and a commitment must also be made to physically attend the classes held in Kathmandu for 3/4 days every month for 6 months prior to participation. The

The program has provided a platform to entrepreneurs who have identified social problems and are trying to solve them through entrepreneurship.

This is a 6 month free course. The course is taught in a different way than traditional classroom learning where participants attend classes three days a month for 6 months. In the learning class, various experts provide necessary information to the entrepreneurs and also exchange ideas through discussion and interaction among the participants. 

For 6 months, fellows participate in various practical sessions. It focuses on business registration, legal process, tax system, business structure development and strategic goal setting, human resource management and leadership development, customer identification and market strategy, financial management, business plan creation and professional presentation. According to the bank, the fellows will also get practical experience by visiting the site.

fellowship program matches each participant with an experienced consultant (mentor). A consultant is not only a guide for the entrepreneur, but also provides them with necessary suggestions, feedback and helps them to expand their professional network.

'Certificate course' program is currently being conducted in all seven provinces in partnership with 11 different educational institutions, the bank said. The program has been developing an entrepreneurial mindset in the youth and providing them with the necessary skills to start a business. The

certificate course runs for three months. Throughout the course, participants have the opportunity to learn business planning skills, entrepreneurial mindset development, and effective social entrepreneurship frameworks. In this program also, sessions are conducted experimentally by various experts and entrepreneurs. The bank claims that 833 people have completed the certificate course so far and they have established more than 72 enterprises.
