Lately, as the production is high, the vegetables are cheap and the traders are also struggling to sell them. Traders said that many people started to grow vegetables after leaving other farming activities, and because of the increase in production, more vegetables came to the market.

Chet Bahadur Thing, who is doing business in Kalimati fruit and vegetable market, said that after the increase in vegetable production, the price of vegetables has become low and they cannot even sell them.

According to him, the production has increased since many people have started planting vegetables in the fields that used to plant rice. Vegetables are being imported to the capital from Dhading, Sarlahi, Kavre, Makwanpur etc.

There is a possibility that the price of farm vegetables will increase from June to July. is Gourds are sold for 15-20 rupees, bitter gourds 20-25 rupees, bodi 15-20 rupees, there is no price. No benefit to traders or farmers.

Chet Bahadur Thing, a vegetable trader, said, "In the paddy field, we have planted more vegetables, so the production has increased. Now there are no vegetables from India. Vegetables come from districts including Dhading, Sarlahi, Kavre, Makwanpur. Indian vegetables are not so much now. Vegetables have become cheaper due to increased production. According to

traders, vegetables are now unsold and have to be thrown away. They say that they are suffering a huge loss since the vegetables are not sold. Another businessman, Bishnu Karki, who is doing business in Kalimati, also said that due to the increase in production, the price of vegetables has become cheaper.

He said that there were many vegetables in the market as some Indians came along with Nepali vegetables. He said, "Even in Nepal, the production is more now. The market is too big. Commercial stalls were also in places. There are stalls everywhere. People do not like to eat when it is cheap. That's why the vegetables are not sold.

Karki believes that the condition of the country is not good and the purchasing power of the people is weak. The traders of Kalimati say that the prices of fruits and vegetables are cheaper than last year.
