Former Finance Minister and Congress MP Prakasharan Mahat has said that the budget for the next fiscal year will not generate as much income as estimated. He said this while participating in the 'general discussion on the annual estimate of revenue and expenditure for the financial year 2082/083' in the House of Representatives meeting on Sunday.

He said that there is a situation where international grants are not being received as proposed and there is no possibility that foreign loans will be implemented in the same proportion. Stating that it is difficult to achieve the revenue target, he emphasized that the government should work hard for that. Mahat, who is also the spokesperson of the Congress, clarified that there is no difference of opinion that it will be difficult to raise the sources of income mentioned in the budget.

'The income estimated by the budget is not as expected. Foreign grants, international grants are not available as proposed by us. Foreign loans are not implemented in the same way. And the target of revenue has been reduced than before. However, it will take a lot of effort to achieve this goal,' he said.   He says that there will be a problem in allocation because the income will not be collected as shown in the

hour. He also said that the upcoming budget has tried to save some money by improving the social security allowance.
