In order to help solve the existing problems in the banking sector, Nepal Rastra Bank has formed a sub-committee for improvement suggestions.
In the sub-committee formed under the coordination of Revat Bahadur Karki, former president of Nepal Bankers Association Bhuvan Dahal and Head of Rashtra Bank Regulation Department Guru Prasad Paudel are members.
Sources said that the Rashtra Bank Board of Directors meeting held last week decided to form a sub-committee. Coordinator Karki is a former employee of Nepal Rastra Bank and former chairman of Nepal Securities Board.
The sub-committee named 'Banking Sector Reform and Development Suggestion Sub-Committee' has been given a deadline to submit a report with suggestions . The sub-committee will make suggestions for solving the problems of the banking sector as a whole, including the fact that even though the interest rate has dropped significantly, the credit is not expanding, the bad loans are increasing, and there are problems in loan recovery.
