Demand for formation of labor commission

The Professional Federation of Nepal and the Integrated Government Employees Organization have demanded the establishment of an independent National Labor Commission for the rights of workers.

This demand has been made by the professional federation and staff organization while submitting a memorandum to Finance Secretary Ghanshyam Upadhyay, who is in the process of preparing the budget.

'It is demanded to arrange social security for the labor employees working in the government and private sectors, to end the exploitative labor practice of temporary, contract and wage work by determining permanent positions in government offices, schools, campuses, hospitals and institutions and to supply manpower through competition and to establish an independent national labor commission for the rights of workers,' the memorandum says.

They have demanded the formation of a high-level investigation commission to prosecute the guilty persons involved in irregularities and corruption, to investigate the enormous wealth of political figures and bureaucrats, to increase production and employment by increasing investment in the agricultural sector, to establish a cooperative-based agricultural produce buying and selling center in all 753 municipalities to guarantee the market and price to farmers, to return savings to cooperative savers and to set up a 'cooperative rescue fund' to pay salaries to cooperative employees. are .
