The government has appointed Chudamani Chapagai as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE). The cabinet meeting held on Monday decided to appoint Chapagai as the CEO.
The newly appointed Chapagai received the letter of appointment on Tuesday, according to the Ministry of Finance. Revenue Secretary Dinesh Kumar Ghimire gave him the appointment letter.
There were 10 applications for the post and the selection committee selected Chapagai, Purnaprasad Acharya, Badriprasad Pyakurel and Hemant Basyal in the first stage. Among them, the names of three people were recommended and the Cabinet appointed Chapagai.
The Ministry of Finance formed a selection committee three weeks ago to select the CEO of NEPSE. According to the decision of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, the committee formed under the coordination of Joint Secretary Pokharel has Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Finance Amrit Lamsal and Khomraj Kharel as expert members. After the tenure of the then CEO Krishna Bahadur Karki, the post of CEO of NEPSE was vacant since January 25.
